After two cancelled plane trips due to bad weather, Tonia Kushin and the four students (Sonia Merculief, Carley Bourdukofsky, Destiny Kushin, and Carmen Philemonoff) made it off the Pribilof Islands and into Anchorage in time for the Alaska Marine Science Symposium.
This week-long scientific conference focusses on research in marine regions off Alaska. Scientists gave talks and presented posters on a huge range of topics including oceanography, zooplankton, walrus, and seabirds.
