THIRD DAY!

Thursday kicked off another action-packed day at Seabird Camp with some play prep and costume/prop making! Campers let their creativity shine before switching gears to make friendship bracelets, adding some extra color (and friendship) to the day.

After that, the groups split up: the older campers teamed up with Destiny to filet halibut, learning how to handle fish like pros, while the younger group stayed behind to help paint our mural, bringing our camp story to life on the walls with brushes, paint, and lots of giggles.

Next came one of the wildest moments of camp a seabird stomach dissection… using balloons! Campers “dissected” balloons to find out what their seabird had eaten. Some found fish, others found trash, and a few got… surprises.

After a quick snack and buffer time for shuttling, we were off on our field trip adventure! First, we spent 30 minutes with Bruce, soaking up Rosy finch songbird wisdom, followed by a trail hike and camera exploration, learning how researchers study birds in action.

We finished our outdoor time with a plant walk, where each camper collected and pressed five different plants, carefully labeling them for their nature stacks back at camp.

Back at the school, campers dove back into play prep, mural painting, and putting finishing touches on props. It was a day full of learning, laughs, and just a touch of balloon surgery. Seabird Camp magic at its finest!
