Friday’s weather was foggy, windy, and wet. A good morning for pancakes and data entry at the hotel for Thomas and Ann! Thomas entered all the rat-trap and kittiwake resighting data, and we went over his APICDA intern performance evaluation together. Thomas has rocked this last week, and it’s been a pleasure to work together again.

We braved the weather, and headed over to the harbor in the afternoon to move the last rat traps to more strategic positions, and reposition a few of the auklet nest boxes that had been shifted by winter storms.

Ann helped Tristen set up his compost bin. Tristen is a real designer, experimenter, and problem-solver. It’s fun to work together, and I’m excited to hear how the compost project goes!

We finished our puffin masks.  Each is unique.  Chipper’s puffin has the measles…

The kids have been working on their clubhouse in the evenings, and Ann was lucky enough to be invited over for some spooky story telling…. These kids have such great freedom and imagination. Their clubhouse is incredible, and even has a door you let down with a drawer-string.

On Saturday, we all met up for a fire and beach-time!

Lots of fun in the sand!
