Yay! Students at St. George are starting to learn more about seabirds this winter through regular Skype meetings with the two oldest students – Carmen Philemonoff and William Lekanof
Carmen and William have written the below blog introduction about their school.
The St. George School is an excellent, small school in the middle of the Bering Sea. There are three preschoolers, 2 first graders, 2 second graders, 1 fourth grader, two fifth graders, 1 seventh grader, an one eighth grader. The total amount of students in the school is 12. We have one teacher and one administrator that take care of the school. Our school hours are 8:00 am- 3 pm. Unlike other schools we go home for lunch because we do not have a cafeteria, but on special occasions we do eat at the school. Also, at our school we celebrate two Christmas’s: we have the regular Christmas and the Russian Christmas, which is on the 7th of January.
The Mascot for St. George school is the Fur Seal Pup!
