Another windy day, but no rain or snow and the light was dramatic and bold again.  It’s hard to capture the wind in photos, the way you have to lean into it to stand upright, the constant blowing, rattling and banging, the pounding ocean, and just how much it saps your energy during the shortest of walks. No one else seems fazed or rattled by it, but I am!

We had a creative session at school this morning. We hung the painted wooden halibut with some of our beach treasures to make hanging marine mobiles, and Chipper and Jillian finished their migratory bird calendar competition photos.  Emma and I then learned about fish anatomy by putting together a fish from the skeleton up.  It was a great way for us to learn the various fin names as we glued them on.  The sun then came out, and Emma and I decided to go for a walk to check out the wave action.

After school, Jillian, Chipper and I went to St. George’s Church to take some photos and video to share with our friends on the Commander Islands in Russia.  This beautiful Russian Orthodox Church was built in 1935.  Listening to the wind buffeting outside, Chipper told us the church felt safe.
