Back to high wind, but no rain.
Thomas and Karin kept charging on the rat-trap checks, and they moved some of the far-away stations to more strategic places around the harbor. The Refuge crew came over to learn what they need to do for the next round of trap-checks later this summer.
Meanwhile, Cordell, Tristen, Arina, and Anastasia joined Kasey and Erin for the COASST survey on Zapani Beach. We had the easier job!
No dead birds, but great beach-combing. We were sheltered from the wind, and the girls took their shoes off. The sand was warm!
Tristan and Cordell found some good buoys, and an old shovel… the girls found sand dollars.
A couple of wandering tattlers on the beach, and a sealion came and checked us out a couple of times.
It was too windy for kittiwake resighting, so we met to put modge-podge on our masks in the evening, and caught up on data and sleep before tomorrow.
