On January 21, 2014, we went to the Campbell Creek Science Center and learned about moose, foxes, chickadees, owls, beavers, etc. After learning about the animals we got ready to go snowshoeing for a couple of miles. During the Snowshoeing we played a 5 senses game and had to use our 5 senses to identify a tree our partner had led us to. Following that activity, we played a little Nature Bingo Game. While playing the Nature Bingo, we walked on the side of a runway to the creek and watched the water for a few minutes. We watched and listened for Chickadees, after looking and watching for Chickadees we walked back to the Campbell Creek Science Center to have lunch and play a little game called Bat And Moth, which taught us about Echo Location.
That Evening we went to the Poster Session. As we stood there, we talked to other scientists and visitors about our posters; we had over 50 people come and learn about our posters. Our posters are about the Seabird Youth Network that helps to teach students about Sea Birds, and strives to encourage students to pursue careers in seabird biology. At first we were all shy and hesitant to speak up, but as the night went on, we all became more confident and outgoing. It was a great experience for us.
