The summer ethno-ecological camp 2019 on the Commander Islands was another great success.

Summer ethno-ecological camp 2019

The camp was from July 14 to July 24. There were 10 students from 13 to 16 years old. The route ran along the western coast from Cape Cherniy – Poludennaya Bay -Gladkovskaya – Cape Dikii- Gladkovskaya -Peresheek Bay -Lisinskaya Bay – Peredovaya Bay, Cape Tolstoy- Commander Bay -Polovina Bay. Students crossed the island from Lisinskaya to Peredovaya. There were one lesson on cetaceans in Poludennaya Bay. Students learn about plants in Peresheek. There were excursions on birds and fulmar biology lesson on Tolstyi cape. We walked to the Baydarnaya Marina to the bird colonies. Then we visited necropolis “Parking of the Second Kamchatka Expedition” – a detailed excursion in the Commander Bay. From the Polovina Bay students returned to the village. The total distance was about 130km.
