During the misty early morning, Seabird Camp Intern Ashley Kushin joined her cousin Destiny Kushin, who is working with ACSPI’s Ecosystem Conservation Department, under the Reef Cliffs to take seabird “Guano” samples. These samples are being collected throughout the summer at various areas around St. Paul Island. Targeted seabird species are Kittiwakes and Murres. The samples will be sent to a laboratory to get analyzed for signs of contaminants and/or avian influenza.
